Proposed Reid Road Quarry

! YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE TO OBJECT. IF YOU DO NOT SEND IN YOUR OBJECTIONS PROPERLY BY SEPTEMBER 17, 2018, YOU ARE DEEMED TO AGREE TO THE QUARRY!

This site posts scans of James Dick’s application documents. The application documents were prepared by consultants and advisors retained by James Dick, so they are not impartial.

Please note, the scans include the main reports but in some places are missing some of the figures because the reports are numerous and large – too difficult to properly scan. Full, electronic versions are now available by James Dick, but they cannot be printed or downloaded (why?).

  1. What an arrogant statement, ” YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE TO OBJECT. IF YOU DO NOT SEND IN YOUR OBJECTIONS PROPERLY BY SEPTEMBER 17, 2018, YOU ARE DEEMED TO AGREE TO THE QUARRY!” Also, a little shady displaying the information notice in an area where very few residents will ever see it! Sounds like a very narcissistic company bent on getting their way! Processing minerals in quarry’s is necessary but disturbing the ground water aquifers to access minerals is not!

  2. I live a kilometer from there. This will screw up my water and everybody else’s on wells. Underground blasting will crack my foundation, shake the house and make sleeping even more difficult for me. Once this crap starts what’s going to happen to property values when we have no or little water. Being forced into a cistern and then have to pay for water is BS.

    1. Fair points – if you object make sure to get in your objection and reasons by September 17. Also, read the reports – if you don’t think they cover your concerns, you should speak up!

  3. I strongly object to this quarry. It is absolutely unnecessary, also it will adversely affect wildlife and our communities water supply and the foundations of nearby homes. I hope everyone a who will be affected by the quarry send their objections to t MNR.

  4. We need to fully understand the underlining negative repercussions of opening this quarry. We have lived in this immediate area for well over sixty years and deserve more information before agreeing to a step backwards for our stable community.

    1. Absolutely! If you’re worried – you should send an objection to make sure your voice is heard. If you don’t object by September 17, you are deemed to accept this. Sample objection letter is under the objection tab on this webpage.
